• A woman’s face is covered by her hands. She has perhaps seen better days. Her hands and face are badly cracked in a number of different places. There has been some significant peeling. There is a weariness to this piece that hits you in the gut, and stays with you for a long time to come. She is showing us what we do when we fail to confront racism. She is showing us that even if we aren’t turning an actual blind eye to the horrors, our silence is essentially the exact same thing. This is a profound statement that reminds us to do better. .
• Most of us understand that loneliness can come in many forms. It can capture our hearts at any given moment. Whether you are physically alone, or if you feel alone in a large crowd, this nude woman lost in lonesome thought can speak to your feelings. There are even times in which we can even feel alone in the company of just one person we love very much. When that happens, it isn’t difficult to imagine the simple structure that traps the subject in this picture. All of us have been there. This piece is available as t-shirts, wall art, or interior products. .
• Jan Keteleer is a belgian artist who create photorealistic paintings of landscapes, figures in water, and bodies on tightropes. His paintings use light manipulation to create psychologically charged atmospheres. His subjects are never shown with their faces, but their bodies are always submerged in the water or wrapped in sheets. These are the most powerful and haunting images of this artist.
Unlike his earlier works, this artist uses color to convey a sense of loneliness and isolation. Many of his female subjects appear exposed and free in his paintings, and some even have the appearance of floating. However, it is the depth of their bodies that make the work emotionally challenging. In contrast, the artist's recent works capture a feeling of elation and wonderment.
