BMW 3.0 CSI the legendary German car from 1971 is considered by many to be the classic car of its time and many enthusiasts consider it to be a real classic. It was BMW's first full-size car and meant for above the height of the "hill-top" concept where drivers had to climb up an embankment to gain a view. They also called it a "people's car" as it had been designed to accommodate and accompany its rider. For this reason, many felt that it was a failed attempt at creating a luxury car.

The BMW 3.0 CSI was redesigned for the masses and made available to all those who wanted a luxury car at an affordable price. It has been nicknamed the "cocoon", or "halo" car for this very reason, as it hid its engine under a cocoon of chrome and plastic when parked. The car came with a 2-liter inline four cylinder, which was much smaller than the original and meant that the engineers could produce a car for consumers that could compete with the Mercedes and Ferrari on the street. These cars also had low ground clearances as well as front-bumper protection to keep out bugs and debris in case of an accident. Today, these cars are considered by many to be the classic BMWs of their day.

Although there are many different variations on the theme of BMW 3.0 CSI and many more being introduced each year, there is no doubt that this classic model will always be the most popular. With a sleek design that mirrors the design of previous BMWs, it certainly stands out in a crowd. It's sporty, bold, beautiful, and best of all, very practical.
