The model year of this particular Impala Special Sports Coupe is set at the base of the 1957 model year and is one of the last of the Chevrolet Impala series that uses the traditional "C" model-numbering system. As the name indicates, this particular model features an extended wheelbase, which is why the car seats five people comfortably, as opposed to the four-person capacity of most other Chevrolet models at that time. Though the exterior design is modern in comparison to other Chevrolet Impala Special Sports Coupe models, the interior follows the "classical" theme that was established throughout the rest of the model's production run, retaining the "hood" and "waist" trim that identifies these cars as being family vehicles.

The standard model of the Chevrolet Impala Special Sports Coupe features a front air dam, and a two-door passenger compartment. A unique interior feature is the presence of what is known as "tire well" fender covers, which help protect the car from damaging chipped paint during rough driving conditions. These simple and inexpensive accessories make the Special Sport Coupe one of the more popular editions of this classic family vehicle. In addition to this, it also comes standard with up to 60 extra horse power, making it a fast and fun vehicle for anyone who has the desire to own one. With its sturdy frame and rugged design, it is no wonder that the Impala Special sports Coupe continues to be one of the best-selling automobiles today!
