If you are looking for a rare and collectible Ferrari, the Ferrari 250GT Spyder California is a great choice. The design of the car was new at the time and the body design follows closely to the original Ferrari test cars. The body is painted in black and the interior was improved over the production version to make it more comfortable. The interior has leather padded seats with what is described as "snake leather seat covers" and it has a roll bar that helps keep the interior looking neat and clean, along with hand controls.

The interior is light weight with easy access to all areas and the controls are well placed making the transition from hardtop to softtop an easy one. This car has been used for many different occasions by the general public and still looks just as new as it did when it left the factory. As stated earlier, this particular model is only manufactured in limited quantities and you can buy it from most collectors' groups or auto auctions around the country. You will pay a premium for this item and it is very collectible so it may be out of the reach of the average car buyer. It does however have a huge following amongst those who are considered real collectors.

There are also limited edition versions that are based on the design of the original car and there are a few cars available as well with the same concept but with improvements such as longer wheelbases, power increased from 4500 rpm to nearly 7500 rpm, Brembo brakes, and an enlarged windscreen. It also has the now popular front grille, which is actually a trapezoid-shaped vent. These modifications help to improve fuel economy.
