Delage D8 120 Aerosport 1938.psd
The Delage D8 120 Aerosport was a mid-engined sports car that was completed in August 1937. It was the sixth Delage produced of the series 1 design and was owned by an Argentine enthusiast for many years. In 1987, it was acquired by an American collector. He then lost interest and the car was left for dead. In 2017, Cooper Technica purchased it and began restoring it to its original Martian red color.
The aero-shaped body of the Delage D8-120 Aerosport has a distinctive fastback roof. The rear window splits into two separate panels, while the windowsills match the speared side molding. The Labourdette Vutotal design eliminates the conventional pillars and overlaps the rear-quarter glass and door. The front end of the car features fender skirts for the wheels and four glorious chrome exhaust pipes.
The D8-120 Aerosport was capable of over fifty miles per hour on mountain roads. It was equipped with a transonic air suspension system and a functioning wing for extra stability and traction. The aero-sport became a prized possession for Boucher and his pursuit of automotive design. Although it is no longer in production, it is an impressive and highly collectible classic sports car. This car is worth its weight in gold.
