Ford Capri RS V6 1973.psd
If you're looking for an old-school hot rod, consider purchasing a 1973 Ford Capri RS V6. This rare car has an incredibly high horsepower rating and is a great value, especially considering the car's age. In fact, this particular model is a race winner! It's powered by a powerful 2.8-litre V6 engine and has zero hours on the engine, gearbox, and components.
In Japan, the Capri was offered with a 1.6-litre engine or a 2.0-litre unit. The latter was a more expensive choice due to higher annual road tax. However, the RS V6 version was the most popular, so this version was sold at Lincoln-Mercury dealerships. The RS V6 version was a better choice for Japanese buyers. Despite this, sales of this car were not great in the UK.
The RS V6 engine made the car more powerful and capable of reaching speeds of over 100 mph. Its bore increased to 3.4 liters and Ford was now in the over-three-liter sub-class. The RS sported four-cylinders and was paired with a five-speed gearbox. The body of this Capri was further developed, and the radiators were placed in the rear fenders. Center-lock wheels were added to the 1974 model, along with massive slick tires. The car weighed 1,040 kg.
This version of the Capri was offered in two-door hatchback and three-door body styles. The second-generation Capri had its own front fascia, a vertical grille, and dark tail lamps with horizontally-ribbed lenses. The front and rear fenders were widened. The rear hatchback was redesigned in 1983 with a compound-curve rear window. The car continued with the same exterior design through 1986.
