Aston Martin V8 Vantage 1977 GLOSTER GLADIATOR.psd
The seventies sports car from Aston Martin is known as the V8 Vantage. The Aston Martin V8 Vantage is arguably one of the most successful sports cars from the company, which also produced the high-speed four-wheeler Piltram, and the high-performance sports car racing car the Cooper Tumbles. In 1977, the company brought back the popular V8 model to the market, and it became one of the most desirable sports car models ever.
The Aston Martin V8 Vantage was redesigned in keeping with the classic styling of its predecessors, but with the aim of improving on its top-speed performance and power output. This involved a number of design changes, such as shorter front overhang, reworking the kidney grille to produce a lower air flow around the front wheel, using a single-piece air duct that allowed for better cooling in high-speed cornering, and lengthening the wheelbase by 25mm. These modifications reduced the overall length of the car by about three inches, although this depended largely on the overall size of the car, as small changes in overall length can affect the handling balance of a car. One of the other major design changes to the V8 Vantage was the addition of a three-inch diameter rear diffuser which improves the aerodynamic efficiency of the car by reducing air resistance and enhancing the down force from the tires.
Up to this day, the Aston Martin V8 Vantage and its predecessors remain very popular amongst sports car lovers.
