This is a series that Jan Keteleer made as a side-step during a social project that made a statement about racism by capturing people who "spoke" with the viewer in sign language.
The photographs used in the series were black and white to emphasize the equality of people through the absence of colour. The bias of one's skin colour then disappears.
In order to emphasize the bias of colour once again, Jan Keteleer took a small series from the large project and coloured in these black and white images. How relative can the skin colour be from birth if you can change it manually?
